reflective practice

My understanding on the word reflective practice is this, 'to reflect on your past judgements so that they affect your future decisions.'
As you already know there are two types of reflective practice there is 'reflection-in-action' which is where you try out different solutions untill the problem is solved, or 'reflect-on-action' which is then you learn from the situation and try not to make mistakes like that in the future.
One man Donald Schon was trained as a philosopher but it is his work on relective practice and learning systems has made him famous. In his first book "Displacement of Concepts" (1963) (republished in 1967 as "Invention and the Evolution of Ideas" talked about ‘the ways in which categories are used to examine “things” but are not themselves examined as ways of thinking’ (Parlett 1991, quoted in Pakman 2000). This was the first stepping stone for Schon and later went on to publish many books.

We are told to use learning journals as these help with with our learning prossess. I have found since i am using my learning journal (my blog) i have been able to retain alot more information. I also feel i can use this as my own personal text book which i can refer back to at anytime.

Digital Love

today we learnt about pixilation, this is when people are used to create a stop-go animation such as the white board below. To do this Pixilation you place the camera in a still postion you take snapshots with the person moving inch by inch.
By doing this you have to have on average of 25 frames per second, but to do our Pixilation we are only using 12 frames per second.
i shall post the video when it has been made.

UPDATE
as you all probbley know most of our pixalation film has been made.
I havn't posted the video however as i am having difficalty with premer (difficalt softwere)

Freshers Life

I have now officaly finished freshers week, it feels strange i have only been here a week and it feels like a year!!
well Unfortunatly i got "freshers Flu" so i wasnt really up for much, although i did go to 3 union events, and i got to check out alot of awsome pubs and clubs. I found one of me faverout its called "the Pit and Pendulem" its theamed and looks awsome. i dont like the music but the bar man was cute.

When i think about my course I can't help but getting alittle excited, I mean i have only been in two days and i have made a camera out of a beer can (the first picture didnt come out too well, but i love the second one), i have also made with a group of 3 other people a Whiteboard animation(on the video below it starts with the box growing arms and getting the bannana out of the tree, at the end it says "In loving memory of BOX-T")
What I am most looking forward is the Animation, I just think its really exciting having something you though of in your head, and its there on screen walking around.

Below is the picture i took with a beer can.

Tasty Inspiration

Many people might think.
"Angry Biscuit eh.. Thats a stupid name. Why did you choose that?"
Well obviously i would ignore them but in this case i shall answer, why not?
I like to think this i choose that name as to through people off.
When in truth there was a packet of Chocolate Digestives on my desk looking very tempting.
