Clickable Culture
I have recently been looking at online messenger clients aswell as games.
The first one I looked at was an online chat room baised 3D avatars called IMVU.
The point of IMVU is to chat to other users in a 3D enviroment, Another factor of IMVU is that your avatar is completly customisable from what skin colour you have right down to what furnature you purchase for your "room".
Another unique thing about IMVU is that everything on the site is user created and can be "purchased" with credits. Credits are bought with real money as well as earning them by getting fellow users to sign up and takeing part is special activites.
Here are some screen shots of my carracter and other users:

Another game i looked at was Guild Wars, This game is totaly diffrents from IMVU as it is an RPG (Role-Playing Game), Guild Wars fits into the catagory Identies because you customise your Caracter by choosing hight, hair style and colour, armour and class (class is when you choose what your caracter does i.g. Warrior or eletamist ect.).
You also have the option of playing with other users, your party could be upto 5 other player or NPC's (non-player caracters)

Ive been using IMVU for awhile now and i have to say not all of it was a plesent experence. to put it polightly never go on a chat client late at night!
apart from the "weardo's" you get online it have been a rather pleasent experence.
I have made a few friends and i do seem to get regular emails off them.
the animations of the avitars are very jurky however but this is because the site is still in beta.
I find it rather creepy that "guys" if thats what they really are would search for a person to chat to baised purley in there sex, then hound them for "fun" as one person called it.
It is safe to say that i blocked that person and many others. its just too creepy!
